MODULATED WATER FLOW GENERATOR PWG 2000.
Water flow modulator PWG 2000 from SebaKMT, Germany.
The pulse wave generator PWG 2000 works together with the Hydrolux acoustic leak detector and is designed to locate metal and non-metallic pipelines up to 2 meters deep.
Important:
The operation of the PWG 2000 is based on manipulations with flowing water, therefore the PWG 2000 does not work in pipelines without pressure.
The PWG 2000 generator is connected to the water pipe at the point where water flows out of the pipeline. Due to the pressure of the water flow, the PWG 2000 valve opens and closes approximately 60 times per minute, creating shock waves in the water pipeline. They propagate along the pipe in the form of uniform, longitudinal acoustic compression waves and are recorded on the surface using Hydrolux leak detectors.
The generator operates even at a minimum pipe pressure of 2 BAR, and the acoustic signals generated by the generator can be detected by an acoustic leak detector up to 600 m from the generator connection point. Hydrolux leak detectors, on the other hand, use a ground microphone to record vibrations and display their intensity.
(The picture shows a water flow modulator/valve without a control pulse generator.)
